Kathleen was once told that people who can’t afford attorneys call police. Kathleen became an attorney after serving 20 years as a police officer. It’s her goal to ensure that all people can afford attorneys, and provides legal services on a sliding-scale basis.
As a police officer, Kathleen worked in investigations, including juvenile, school and vulnerable adult investigations. She also served as a DWI, alcohol and drug instructor. During law school Kathleen served in the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Adult and Aging Services, earning a CALI award, as well of the Office of Inspector General. She also served with a Ramsey County Municipal Prosecutor’s office, a Wright County judge and currently volunteers with the Senior Linkage Line.
As an officer, Kathleen was unable to pick and choose her calls or who she would or would not help. As an attorney, she intends to maintain the flexibility to assist people who need legal help regardless of whether it is an elder law, administrative, housing, criminal or other legal issue.
